The origins of Costin Roe Consulting, consulting engineers
Costin Roe Consulting Pty Ltd was established in 1989 as Costin Structural Pty Ltd.
Since then the firm has grown continuously and now has over 25 staff with offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle and Wollongong. For more than 27 years the firm has been building a strong, industry-wide reputation for providing value in engineering and management for clients and their projects.
Wayne E Costin, the firm’s founder, was formerly a principal of Meinhardt Consulting Engineers and the director-in-charge of their Sydney office. Grant Roe joined Wayne’s firm in 1990, becoming an associate in 1995 and a partner in 1999. The company was renamed Costin Roe Consulting Pty Ltd in 2001.
Board-level changes in 2016 with new management team
In April 2016, Wayne Costin announced plans to step down from executive duties.
With Wayne Costin retiring as managing director of Costin Roe Consulting, Grant Roe became the new managing director. Former associate director of Costin Roe Consulting, Mark Wilson, became the new director. Phil Terrey remained an associate director.
Costin Roe Consulting has accrued an extensive range of experience, successfully completing civil and structural design work for many significant commercial, industrial and residential projects.
Two separate but complementary business initiatives are Strata Engineering Solutions, formed to provide engineering, reporting and investigation services to residential strata property owners, a service which can include the design, documentation and supervision of remedial works; and Business Management Systems which provides strategic and IT consulting services to professional firms.
