Draftsperson – Structural (Revit)

Costin Roe Consulting is a medium-sized consulting engineering practice specialising in providing civil and structural engineering advice. The firm has been established since 1989 and has grown to provide a diverse range of professional services to clients in the construction and insurance industries.

Our offices are located in Walsh Bay, in Sydney’s tourist precinct, close to transport, shops and restaurants.

We are currently seeking an experienced Draftsperson with over 5 years experience in structural drafting. Reporting to the CAD & BIM Managers, the Draftsperson will work on structural design projects in our Sydney office. A high level competence in REVIT is essential for this role, applicants without REVIT experience will not be considered.

We seek applicants who can demonstrate their ability in the following areas:

• Visualise engineers’ ideas into drawings.
• A background in delivering industrial, commercial and residential structures.
• Experience in detailing reinforced concrete and structural steel.
• Organisation of work to meet project deadlines.
• Completion of assigned drafting work to agreed specifications.
• Accuracy and timeliness in completing work assignments.
• Actively seeks feedback from Engineers and clients on quality of work.
• Promptly responds to client queries and proactively resolves client requests.
• Awareness of compliance standards that impact work projects.

Applicants for this position will most likely have completed the TAFE Structural Design Certificate Course. Other demonstrated knowledge and skills we would expect candidates to have are:

• Demonstrated ability working within an engineering firm.
• Sound computer knowledge – REVIT, AUTOCAD 2014, Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Strong organization and planning capability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective listening skills.
• Time management of self and work assignments – ability to meet deadlines.
• Sound technical intuition.
• Visualisation of ideas.
• Respect for others.
