A block built in the 1970’s, the balconies suffered from some misplaced reinforcement and some of the internals from magnesite. In some cases there was a direct relationship.
Rather than demolish the balconies and start again or alternatively erect a supporting structure which would not have appeared at all pleasing, a series of cogged bars were grouted into the balcony slabs and continued into the internal slab, lending the support that should have existed in the first place.
