CSR Fibrecement Sheet Plant

This $50 million production facility introduced new technology for the production of fibrecement sheet into Australia. The plant manufactures sheet for the Australian and Asian markets. The project included the production hall for two lines, storage silos and mixing areas and a ball mill. As well as completing the structural design for the building and plant preparation areas we also designed the machine bases. These included high speed sheet forming mills, curing tunnels, a twenty tonne press, ball mill and numerous mixing and transfer devices. We worked closely with the European machinery manufacturers and produced detailed documentation providing full set out for concrete profile, penetrations and conduit routing. In addition, by utilising our expertise in CAD technology we prepared rendered three dimensional drawings of all machine bases. These drawings became very useful in providing the construction crews a clear image of what was required. Moreover, the three dimensional models allowed accurate calculation of concrete volumes and thus simplified contract negotiation and reduced financial risk.
